Ayo & Jason, Married 9/2015

As a dating and relationship expert, there was so much pressure to be coupled and find love. And while I refused to let that rush me into settling, I did challenge myself to think outside of the box like I always directed my clients. So as a New Year’s resolution in 2014, I decided that I would give online dating a try instead of another fad diet. I signed up for POF as I had heard about it from friends and wanted to try it before referring my clients there. At the same time, Jason was relocating to Dallas to "pursue a business opportunity, build an empire, and meet my queen" as he always says. He also signed up for POF at the urging of a friend who had been successful on the site. He messaged me and it quickly led to a light hearted phone conversation. We had a connection and decided to meet in person. We met at a restaurant for our first date, and hit it off right away! I remember talking and laughing nonstop; our waitress had to politely tell us we had stayed past closing. As he walked me to my car, he professed that I was “the one” and that he would marry me one day. And after 5 months of dating and a spectacular weekend with our families at Thanksgiving, Jason proposed in the middle of Fearing’s Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Dallas, TX. I should have been suspicious when Dean Fearing himself came out to greet us, but was shocked when he came towards me and got on one knee. We have now been married for 2 years and cannot wait to see what more the future brings. Dedicated to using myself as an example, I share our story and the blessing of POF with others. I teach individuals how defining what you want and being willing to take a chance can land you the love of your life. My clients often joke that I should be a Plenty of Fish spokesperson the way I sell the site to them!
