Amber & Anthony, Married 4/2014

"Amber & Anthony"
Anthony and I met by complete divine intervention! I was dating someone else and Anthony had just gotten out of a long-term relationship. He was supposed to be working that day, but was off because his grandfather had passed away. We were mutually invited to his brother’s house to watch an LSU game. Even though I was with someone else, I knew there was something special about him from the moment that we met. Shortly after this chance encounter, I was also once again single. Thinking all hope was lost, and that I would be single forever I prayed harder than I’ve ever prayed before. I had a heart to heart with God and asked him to send me the man that would love me forever, never hurt me and never leave me. I reactivated my POF account and literally within minutes of reactivation, I received an email from Anthony. He told me that it must be fate because he hadn’t stopped thinking about me since the day we met and when he heard that I was single wanted so badly to contact me but didn’t know how. Having just had my heart broken, I was weary but knew there was something special about this man and I had to give him a chance. We went on a date within a week of communicating and have been together ever since. Anthony is the most loving, self-less and sometimes stubborn (haha) man that I have ever met. I know now why God had us waiting so long. We had to be in the right place, at just the right time to cross each other’s paths. In October, we went to Nottoway Plantation for our one year anniversary. I had stopped getting my hopes up about a proposal on any important dates. I figured that we would just be watching TV one day when he would pop the question. Boy, was I wrong. In true Anthony fashion though, he waited until the end of the night. We had gone to dinner, watched the LSU game, walked around the grounds AND shared a bottle of champagne to celebrate our one year. After all of this, he asked if I wanted my present and told me to close my eyes. Knowing I would peek, he pulled out an LSU bag. (At this point I thought I was getting flip flops or a shirt!) He knew that I was peeking and told me to turn my head the other way. A few moments later, he told me I could look and when I turned around he was down on one knee asking me to be his WIFE! Of course, I said YES! On 4-4-14, we will become husband and wife!
